Former NHL star and female star who was forced to change her name to ‘Dani’ is back

Former hockey player and female celebrity Dani Gubina is back in the NHL.

Gubna, now 36, played eight seasons with the Edmonton Oilers, but she announced on Twitter that she is now a ‘dancing deer’ in a bid to keep her name off of social media.

‘I’m not going to be the same person anymore,’ Gubana tweeted.

‘It’s not about what the world thinks about me, it’s about who I am and how I want to be known.’

Guban said that she has never been in trouble for using her real name, and said she is not embarrassed by her past.

‘Dancing deer,’ Dani Gobna, 35, tweeted on May 8.

‘But I am proud to be a part of the #NHL family.’

The NHL released a statement to The Associated Press saying that the league had ‘no comment.’

Former hockey star and actress Dana Barros-Watson, who is also known as Dana Bowers, was also forced to alter her name after being named a top female athlete in the NFL.

She also faced backlash for a Facebook post about an attack she had suffered at the hands of her ex-boyfriend.

‘Just heard that @DanaBowers is getting married!

She’s officially a #dancingdancer,’ Dana Barrows-Witts, 25, wrote.

‘@DanaBarrowsWitt posted that in a Facebook status.

You are the hero!

In a video, she said she had ‘totally gotten over my issues with my ex,’ adding, ‘I am happy to be officially a dancing dancer in the NBA and I hope you are too.’
